Mineral:Fluorite with Sphalerite and Quartz
Locality:Cave-in-Rock District, Hardin County, Illinois
Description:Translucent purple fluorite crystals up to 18 mm across with transparent red-brown sphalerite crystals to 5 mm on gray matrix coated with quartz microcrystals. The surfaces of the fluorite crystals are composed of many smaller parallel crystal faces.
